Require an application to “cut?? a binary data file by geographic information provided by an ESRI “shape?? file. The process would use an existing shape file containing the required information for cutting the binary file and user defined shape file to produce the geographic boundaries for the cuts. The picture attached shows the existing shape file (points) and the user-defined polygon (red box). Where the red box intersects the point file a line number can be extracted and that number used to search and cut the binary file. In this example 4 separate files would be “cut?? and output from the binary file. The user should be able to define the start number for each set of output files.
