We have a problem with Debian making it only partway through a boot. The exact same disk boots fine with a standard Adaptec SCSI controller. However, if we swap out the Adaptec and replace it with a Mylex RAID controller, the disk will only make it partway through the boot. We believe the RAID card is okay and set up properly. We have attached a screen print showing the last page of the boot. Remember, this exact same disk boots no problem with the Adaptec controller, so it seems unlikely this is a disk problem. ## Deliverables Help us diagnose and fix this problem, if it can be fixed. The disk on channel 5 suffered a temporary failure (loose power cable). The RAID5 sets named "Device0" and "Device 3" rebuilt, accepting the replaced disk 5 as a spare as soon as it was re-detected. However, the array named "Device1" went to 'rebuilding' for a few seconds and then became 'failed' even though only one disk had been missing. As these volumes are all read-only, I have to assume that any error is in the array metadata only.
