URGENT: Need Help with Blog Posts appearing in WordPress site

I'm getting ready to launch a new site for a customer, and just realized that his blog posts are not "live". There are two spots in the right column of the homepage where the title and a short excerpt from the two most recent blog articles should appear. Unfortunately, the freelancer who designed the site simply hard coded the two entries, so they won't be updated as new blog posts are added. I'm not particularly savvy in WordPress editing, but I believe the issue has something to do with short codes which need to be added there. I need this completed in the next two hours, so I'll be selecting a freelancer as soon as I've received a few bids and found someone with the qualifications to address this quickly. This shouldn't require more than a few minutes of your time to complete. I'll be available via Skype or Yshoo IM to assist the selected freelancer with exactly what needs to be done, and how they can access it.
