Rowan's Fund For their Futures

I am Brett R. O'Bannon, Ph.D. I've been with Webster University Thailand for three years. In February our rector announced we are closing our doors permanently at end of calendar year because COVID has destroyed economic base. Because students all over the region face economic threats to finishing their undergraduate degree I decided to create Rowan's Fund. It is a charitable organization just this week incorporated in North Carolina. It will raise funds to help needy college kids in SE Asia to continue to pay the costs of college -- which is made much harder to do as COVID 19 has created economic havoc throughout the region. Often extended families that had 7-8 employed members helping pay for college for one or two kids have been reduced to only 1 employed person, some have none. We will give grants to the neediest kids in good academic standing with their colleges so that they might complete their degrees and in doing so aid their families and communities back home. We have a domain name FundfortheirFutures.org. Here is what we need on the site to open with so we can begin our fundraising ASAP: - several Student testimonials posted that discuss their story of underprivileged background, what obtaining a college degree means and how badly COVID is threatening to derail the plans. - host a video clip to introduce/showcase our goodwill ambassador Meena Rx. -- Display the basic announcement of our Fund's creation, the impetus for starting this enterprise, what our objective is - keep kids on track to finish degree -- why it's important and why people should give. (i have all that in a pdf file. can be parceled out into separate pages easily i should think.) -- Host some graphics and/or charts that show huge cost of living differences students now face because their schools are closing down and they have to go elsewhere to finish degree -- post our Funding goal with link to our crowdsourcing funding enterprise -- a posting of our Statement of principles -- posting the documents showing legal status, board of directors, etc. Email functionality. and that is about all we need to open the fundraising campaign. Most important issue: TIme is not on our side.
