Update VB6 code for sending email

I need the attached VB6 code (in file) updated. When a freelancer did the work back in 2011, it worked fine. Now I'm getting this error message: Error The message could not be sent to the SMTP server. The transport error code was 0x80040217. The server response was not available Err Num -2147220975 This error could be because my browser is not IE. I need code that can work with most browsers including Firefox, IE and Chrome. The code you suggest does not have to be exactly like this, with the same variables passed, but it gives you an idea of what I am looking for. If you have suggestions for a more updated approach, I would appreciate it. This MUST be VB6 code, or a dll or ocx I can link to via VB6.
