Apple OSX RoR Mysql Environment configuration

I'm trying to set up an RoR development environment on an Apple Mini (OSX 10.6.5). Getting all sorts of brutal errors in the mysql gem. Probably need help uninstalling a bad version of mysql, installing the mysql dev libraries, et cetera.
