Improve display of fields in hardware articles

Within the hardware module each hardware article has a set of fields. Depending on what type of hardware article is to be selected, some fields are not relevant and do not need to be displayed. Item Type = BLANK is selected (default) Display following fields: only the „Item Type” dropdown Item Type = Accessory is selected Display following fields: Status Hardware item Description Item Type = Bracket is selected Display following fields: Status Hardware item Description Item Type = Computer is selected Display following fields: Status Hardware item Serial no Replacement Windows License Windows License no Part 1 Windows License no Part 2 Confire-Software Description Item Type = Display is selected Display following fields: Status Hardware item Serial no Touch Protective Glass Confire-Software Description Item Type = WE7-Lizenz is selected Display following fields: Status Windows License Windows License no Part 1 Windows License no Part 2 Description Part 2a: Improve validation of order no in hardware records Remove the current javascript validation on the “Order No” field. Validation must be done upon saving the order. This is how it should behave: Possibility 1: User creates a new order An order no is automatically generated and displayed in the order no field (greyed out) The user has the option to keep the auto generated no or click “Manual” and enter their own choice. When the user clicks save Sugar checks if this order no already exists. Validation begins: If the order no already exists then error “The order number you have attempted to save already exists. Would you like to generate a new order number or enter it manually?” If the user clicks “Autogenerate” then a new unique order no is displayed in the order no field (greyed out) If the user clicks “Manual” then the order no field is set to manual (if not already) and the field made blank. The user can then enter a new manual order no and click save. Upon which the validation on the order no repeats. Validation ends: Possibility 2: User edits an existing order User edits an existing order. Upon clicking save Sugar validates the order no field. See Validation begins (above). Part 2b: Improve functionality of the function “Current Hardware Order Number” in Admin Under Admin – Hardware Settings – “Current Hardware Order Number”. This is a custom feature which was developed by a different freelancer. This function simply keeps a track of the current hardware order number which should be input into the “Order no” field of the hardware module as autogenerated order nos. At the moment it is just a simple incremental count and it does not check if the number already exists in an order. If a user attempts to save the current hardware order number using an order no that already exists then it should error “The order number you have attempted to save already exists. Would you like to generate a new order number or enter it manually?” If the user clicks “Autogenerate” then a new unique order no is displayed If the user clicks “Manual” then the order no field is made blank. The user can then enter a new manual order no and attempt to click save. Upon which the validation on the order no repeats.
