We had a developer build an email sending program to send out emails to various customers based on the number of days prior to their birthday. The problem is in the 4 years of the program it has never completely worked the way it should. From reporting flaws (showing too many numbers after the decimal, to not sending out text messaging as part of the optional text messaging feature, to submitting changes through account settings and getting database connection errors). The biggest problem now is that we have moved to a VPS because the shared server would not allow the number of emails to go out, average about 200 to 400 emails a day. We moved over to VPS to fix issue, but developer had trouble for weeks getting each part of the site connected (mainly the database connection). Clients identified that the customers were not receiving emails because one, cron was not turned on and two because somehow developer could not get emails to actually deliver to inbox. So we need someone with more advanced knowledge of programming to fix the broken program(s) and work with us on a regular basis to fix all the other programs that have small issues that never seem to get resolved.
