wxwidgets - global keyboard hook

I need global keyboard hook in my wxPython application. So even if application is minimized, it's hook receive chars entered in keyboard, and hook is able to intercept those chars - I mean not return it to system. I need to attach barcode reader into application. The only operating mode of barcode reader is keyboard emulation, when application WILL NOT be always on top/focused. So, when I will have such hook, I will be able to detect if chars which appears on the keyboard are from reader or not. If they aren't pass it to system, if they are - intercept them as barcode. It must work in Windows, and I would be very glad if it works in Linux. ## Deliverables As I said, Windows is mandatory, Linux is optional (but very appreciated). It must work with wxPython 2.4 version, however, it would be nice if it also works with wxPython 2.8 + python 2.5
