I have a small PHP script that quries a remote server and collects the server's responses.
Once in a while, after a large nuber of queries, the remote stalls and the script looses the data.
I need the script to be improved to handle such situations. As I see it, the script should re-query the entry after a reasonable time-out interval (lets say 15 seconds), and than continue working on the rest of the queries.
UPDATE:
I attached a working copy of the script, with my tipical sized list of entries, [login to view URL] - 42,000 lines.
With this size of input file, the script stalls after processing a couple of thousands of entries. Sometimes it freezes even after processing of only a several hunderd entries.
My goal is to have a script that I can leave running overnight - and to recieve smooth results next morning.
UPDATE2: If you feel like re-writing the code in Perl, then by all means, do so.
