If you're not looking to break the bank, I'd like to suggest to buy a more modern theme from Theme Forest for under $50 and then let me modify it to suit your needs. It's both fast and cheap. It's possible to get the current one a bit of a facelift, but don't expect miracles. A bigger problem of the current website, bigger than the design, is messy content.
