Hi, i recenty did a rebuild of some 2005 gcc3 freebsd program for gcc4.8 on linux ( it was server for online game , no external dependancies, probably was easier), after fixing one bug inthe original code it now almost works , maybe I have a look here...

I had to port the project over to VS 2010. Over time I have made modifications to the C++ code and have added an external interface which gives me the ability to call methods in the C++ dll from managed .NET code. It involved writing a wrapper class that serves as the "go between". I have a good deal of experience picking up old programs and maintaining them. The actual conversion of the C++ project from 2005 to 2010 shouldn't be too painless. It may be more work getting all those external toolkits onboard and working correctly with the code. I am an experienced developer in C, C++ 98, C++ 11 including the evolution of the STL. I started developing in C and C++ more than 10 years ago and worked all through the modifications to the language. Therefore I will be able to pinpoint the compilation problems quickly. I need to know how large is the project's source code. If very large my estimation may be inacurate both in price and completion time. I have experience of working with a clients source code and building the application (Embedded C) which involved modification due to missing components and inclusion of new libraries. I have full access to MSDN so will be able to gain access to resources provided. The process I would follow to complete this project would be : 1) Compile software on system with Visual Studio 2005, to ensure clean build is possible. 2) import project into a Visual Studio 2013 / 2015 Solution, if possible piece by piece (assuming project builds DLLs for it's own consumption for example) 3) Work through issues from compilation 4) Perform clean and build operations for whole solution to ensure all issues resolved and compare with original project result I assume ToolKits are all available and function under VS2013/2015 and that none of the functionality requires significant rework only that out of date / unsupported calls are reworked.

I am enrolled in undergraduate program of BS(Computer Sciences). Right now, I am in my final year and since our first semester, we are taught C++ and we've been working in C and C++. So, right now, I've full grip over C++ including all of its concepts like Structs, Classes, Inheritance, Polymorphism, etc.
