Build custom generic webhook receiver with c#.Net web application

I am completely unfamiliar with webhooks and have not been able to find clear examples of a generic webhooks receiver implementation. My company uses CardPointe hosted payment pages and we're developing our e-commerce component but I need to be able to receive the payment confirmation messages from the third party payer website and pars all of the details. The deliverable I expect are the lines of code to implement this solution (from which I can easily utilize the data from the sender), and specifically which config files (if applicable) need to be modified and how. For someone familiar, this appears very straight forward and quick - I am just not familiar.
