From environmental activist to Opera Singer to mother and disability survivor, my life has been a colorful array of ever changing careers and creative experiences. Yet with every profession I've undertaken there has always been one unifying element: writing! When I worked as an environmental activist I was constantly rewriting my "rap". As an opera singer working for a nonprofit one of the many hats I wore was "writer". I assisted with grant proposals, publicity blurbs, production descriptions, newspaper announcements, fundraisers, donor letters, and advertising emails and blogs. More recently, while temporarily immobile recovering from surgery, I began blogging, mostly political posts, the presidential primary a particular focus of mine. Currently, I write for a variety of different industries and services and have written reviews, informational blogs, advertisement blogs, persuasion articles, opinion pieces, and travel blogs.
My hometown is San Francisco, and I know of many hidden gems throughout the city that tourists often miss. There are certainly more than enough to fill at least a weeks visit in the city itself. Seeing SF through a native's perspective can take visitors to the heart of the city in a way that can't be experienced simply through scenic tourist sights and sounds alone, of which there are also plenty to see . I hope to get a chance to write about the true San Francisco experience for your project and I look forward to hearing from you!
