Residential Drafting

This will be ongoing work, generally on a weekly basis.
The projects entail drafting modification of residential designs in AutoCAD software based on client requests. Modifications will be required to the master files of varying residential designs situated throughout Australia.
All necessary files will be provided at the beginning of each job, and include all relevant data necessary to complete the job within a strict timeframe to a high quality and Australian drawing standards.
Each project drawing requirements will include the following:
- Floor plans
- External elevations
- Internal elevations
- Section
- Slab plan
- Site plan
* Please note this will require modification to an existing set of drawings, based on the client selections and inclusions.
Site plans are required to be created in order to site the house on the client block of land, most are relatively straight forward.
Timeframe:
- 1.5 days (from time of job being forwarded to you) for drafting (this is strictly enforced, penalties will be deducted from payment if drawings are not received back within required time frame)
Please note that due to the nature of the projects, each job will vary in the amount of hours that it will take to complete, and the timeframe will vary depending on complexity, however as a general rule, the jobs will take between 4 - 15 hours, and may be more or less depending on the complexity of the given job.
In order to able to adequately complete the work, the following skills & knowledge are required;
- Strong knowledge of residential construction
- Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and the BCA/NCC
- Advanced ability to operate AutoCAD & Revit
- Excellent English (both written and verbal), this required in order to read and comprehend client briefs and changes
- Knowledge of the QDC (Qld Development Code), ability to research, understand and apply relevant codes to the project sites, in terms of boundary set backs, etc.
- Precise, accurate and efficient drafting
Desirable qualifications:
- Building & design diploma/ Bachelor of architecture, or similar
An induction/tutorial will be given to the successful candidate before commencement of the project, as there is specific conventions to adhere to. Further information regarding the projects can be provided if required.
