This project requires exceptional coding skills about databasedesign. Concepts as shadowing, btrees should be familiar.
The intention of this file is to maintain thousands of small key-data pairs. In a later stage these files will be synchronised and will be used to maintain a distributed database.
*1.1* *Coding*
The coding should be in managed C#. Unsafe code is allowed, but only for performance reasons. A safe variant should be available to. This should be conditional.
*1.2* *Access*
This file does *not* have to allow multiple processes to access. It can be opened exclusive.
*1.3* *Multithreading*
Many threads within the same process will access the file. The file should be threadsafe
SingleWrite/Multiple read access is fine. I will not write much to the database.
*1.4* *OS*
I would like to be able to run this code on Pocket and normal PC’s.
*1.5* *Memory*
The file should try to keep memory requirements low. Some caching is allowed.
*1.6* *Transactions*
Data loss is acceptable, but only for the last changes. It is more important that the file doesn’t corrupt. Data is not highly sensitive or important.
File corruption is *not* an option.
Higher layer will handle with data loss.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
