I'm seeking a skilled freelancer to address and improve key aspects of two WordPress WooCommerce websites that are very similar in nature. My focus is on resolving theme compatibility issues, specifically those impacting the WooCommerce HPOS, along with streamlining the checkout process to be more user-friendly. The end goal is to significantly enhance user experience on both sites. Key Tasks and Requirements: - **Resolve Theme Compatibility Issues**: Address and rectify any problems caused by theme incompatibility with WooCommerce HPOS, ensuring seamless product management and payment processing. - **Checkout Process Simplification**: Modify the checkout procedure to minimize the number of steps required, making it faster and easier for customers to complete their purchases. Project Overview: This project aims to enhance two similar WordPress WooCommerce websites by: 1. Fixing customer account update synchronization issue: Things are working fine currently with WooCommerce HPOS compatible mode enabled. Issues are visible when compatibility mode is disabled. The need is resolving an error where updates made in the customer account are not reflected in the database. It appears updates from WordPress admin account works fine but needs to ensure database updates from both places (admin and customer profile page) work fine. Common information to be updated include name, email, date of birth, phone, shipping, and billing address, etc. 2. Simplifying the checkout process: Streamlining the WooCommerce checkout process from two screens to one for a smoother user experience. Make sure data updates, payments (browser, google and apple pay) continue to work fine after making the changes. 3. Rebranding: One of the two websites was created from other. Most rebranding is already done. A few things might need rebranding, for example, contact us form signatures needs to be rebranded as per new website domain name. Expecting very few changes here. 4. Upgrade all plugins: Upgrade all the installed plugins to best stable available version. 5. Performance improvements: The visitors to the site have been increasing. Ensure performance is tuned to prevent performance issues. Scope: • The changes will be made on one website first. After necessarily validation, similar changes will be deployed on the second website. Both website have similar code base, but a few UI fields are different. • Both websites are live and operate in production environments, so expect downtime to less than an hour during deployment. • Developer must test before deploying the changes to minimize disruptions to the websites as both are live. • Changes will need to be made in staging before deploying to production. No direct experiments in the live/production site. Technical Requirements: 1. Compatibility Mode Fix: o Thoroughly test website functionality with HPOS compatibility mode disabled. o Identify and resolve the root cause of the customer account update synchronization issue. o Ensure seamless database updates regardless of whether initiated from the admin or customer account. o All fixes must be compatible with the currently used WooCommerce and PHP versions. 2. One-Step Checkout: o Develop a user-friendly one-step checkout interface encompassing all necessary purchase details. o Ensure browser, google pay, apple pay payments work. o Integrate seamlessly with existing payment gateways and shipping options. o Maintain security and data integrity throughout the checkout process. o Ensure compatibility with current themes and plugins. Additional Requirements: • Testing: Perform rigorous testing in a staging environment before deploying to production. • Deployment: Develop a rollback plan in case of unexpected issues during deployment. • Documentation: Provide clear and concise documentation of all changes made. • Performance: Ensure application performance is not degraded.
