Images in wordpress template

I have template #38001 from template monster please look at the template so you know what I am asking for. Under ‘projects’ pages 1) I want the project pictures more square than rectangle, they don’t have to be squares but they need to be taller than they are now. 2) New pictures don’t show up with a magnifying glass plus the ones that I’ve copied over the old pictures will not show the enlargement. I need info about how to do it so they work (instructions in simple terms on how to do it) and if needed set them up so they will work correctly. These pictures don’t need to lead to anything they just need to be able to be enlarged.
