Software for data analysis

Summary: I need a piece of software that imports and analyses horse racing data. Details: - Data will be imported from .csv files. Each .csv file has headings and all files use the same layout. For some columns there are 3 pieces of data, these will need separating in the software. - The same day's races with details will be imported into the software - The previous day's data will be imported into the software to update it - Data can be exported as one file, or based on given criteria - Data can be processed and analysed using statistics - see "Statistics" How to analyse data: - I must be able to split the data down - so, first I may only want to look at jockey form. Then, when that jockey raced at a given racecourse, but then when the odds on that horse were >=7.0. - I need to be able to import a horse/date list - the software will then lookup the relevant data pulled in from the main spreadsheets and analyse these horses from these dates. - The analysis must be able to produce some reports to look at - perhaps it could be a summary of the inputs of the analysis with the results of this. Statistics: This is just a basic list of statistics - I am hoping to be able to create more. Average class of last X runs Average distance of last X runs Average field size faced in last X runs Win-Place record for various distances, goings etc Trainer record at course Trainer record on going Trainer record at distance Trainer record in class Trainer record with horses of this age * All equivalent stats for jockeys/owners Analysis by odds is very important also. I am hoping to have 100 ways of analysing the data. I will supply the rest once the project has been approved. I will need all source code - if the software is what I want it to be then I may ask to create the software for licensing (cost agreed after if I go this route). So there will be subscribers to the software receiving daily updates. I think it is important you tell me what you think the software should be like, this helps me gauge your understanding of the project. If you can give me a screen mock-up also that will help. This will be for all past data/previous day's data - I am still working on providing a spreadsheet to show the future horse races with relevant data. Column D is where the data needs splitting into 3 separate columns. Each spreadsheet has a date stamp and is formatted the same.
