Joomla Template iPad compatibility

I have a joomla site that is fully set up and live. Only problem is the dropdown navigation on ipad does not work. The hover and click events fire simultaneusly which causes the dropdown menu to show and hide instantly. Also, there is issues with z-index on ipad. Shouldn't be too difficult to someone who knows what they are doing.
