DirectX View Window

Have a 2D Map application. With UTM Grid coordinates for XY and Z. I have surface data in a Grid File with elevations every 2 meters. I want to have created a view window with a terrain surface view that part of the of the earth. Want to be able to drape a 2D image across the terrain as a texture to the surface. This drape image would be in the same coordinate system as the surface data. I am an accomplished GIS/VB/C# programmer. I just don't know where to start with a DirectX 3D representation of my 2D data. Looking for someone with 3D experience to get me started. ## Deliverables 1) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law.
