Hi!
I am Lori, and I am an MD in between practices, and I have also been a writer/editor for over 25 years. I proof and edit everything from a single paragraph to a film screenplay to 1,000 page manuscripts. My greatest joy in wordsmithing is editing books- this past year I have been working with fiction authors and YA authors in the fiction section, and have had 14 books in the hard-copy publishing cycle this year. I am an excellent developmental editor, and can take pieces of a novel and put them together in the most readable and synergistic way. Line editing and then proofreading is my bread and butter, but I am not hesitant to suggest big changes. I have helped numerous authors perfect their books for internet sales, and have lost count.
I communicate with you regularly, with updates (questions, and suggestions). What changes are needed I will make, sending comments to you (I use Word Tracking). I am fast, never miss a deadline, and am totally proficient in English grammar, sentence structure, and syntax. In your case it sounds like there may be some developmental editing that may be needed as well. Reworking chapters, flow and organization are skills that come naturally, and I have done quite a bit of developmental work in the past as well. When you have a wonderful book to read to your daughters and more, then my job is done!
I look forward to talking to you!
My Best,
Lori
