Editor with advanced degree needed for manuscript-editing
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably with an Arts background
- Native English reading comprehension and writing an absolute must
- Advanced degree (masters or above) preferred
- Must be available to work at least 10 hours (or edit 10-15,000 words) per week
- Responsive to email messages
- Customer service and email etiquette experience preferred
- At least three years of experience in editing, writing, document production, or language teaching
- Ability to follow written instructions and - work independently
- Fanatical adherence to deadlines
- Extreme eye for detail and consistency
- An average editing/proofreading speed of 1,000-1,500 words per hour
- In-depth knowledge of one or more style guides (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style, Turabian, APA)
Job description:
I need a responsive editor experienced with academic writing to help edit a 5,500 word article for clarity of expression and structure. Successful applicants will be given a constant pipeline of work and hourly rates will be negotiable after a period of time.
