Website and web application development

We have a requirement of a company Website development and a web application on it. Website will be a standard 4-5 page development activity. The web application mainly needs help with UI, data transfer between (web servers and compute server) and web rendering of 3-D plots. This allows viewing the plots with freedom across the 6-axis, zooming, pan etc. options. The project involves a web-site development (HTML5 etc), Database (MySQL etc), Middleware (JSON/XML/BSON), javascript libraries for UI (WebGL etc) , Backend (Python). Since the % time of usage for web application is limited, we need to separate the web server from cloud server. Web UI is part of the website hosted on web server. Computation (number crunching) needs mem/CPU and hence a compute server. Transfer of a,b,c,d is handled by middleware. Python compute (Python core engine is already developed by Steradian) is done on compute server (AWS/GC). The 3 main scope for web-application are described as below: Process flow: a) The GUI presents user with certain fields and options. Relevant variables (say a,b,c) and files are entered via this UI. The Middleware passes these variables to the cloud server. b) The python code at the backend (in cloud server) computes a dataset (say d = a*b*c) in the format x,y,z coordinates and/or multiple gif files (which needs to be animated). c) The user is presented a 3-D plot of xyz points(say d) with options to zoom, rotate etc and/or a movie clip. Compute: The data from UI after parsing is sent through the middleware to the pre-defined cloud machine (for memory/CPU reasons) where python executes and generates certain data. This python script is given by Steradian. UI: 3D plots for the objects are accomplished today via mayavi (vtk based) (allows to plot the xyz points with options for color, type, size, opacity etc of the objects). It can also do surface mesh based on the input. All these functionalities should be possible in the web-application Contract: Consultation for webpage and the web application is expected to a 10-day maintenance work over a period of one year after the full-assignment completion. Payment schedule of 25% upfront, 25% on half-assignment, 25% on full-assignment and the rest 25% after a 4-week usage trial period.
