PHP developer with a desire to learn cloud-native skills

** Important: for this client, there is a requirement that I hire within India. Ideally in Mumbai or Maharashtra, but all of India is open for consideration. Our client is doing a rewrite of an old PHP-based website into a modern, cloud-native stack. The exact stack is negotiable, and you will have a part in deciding what makes the most sense! Key benefits of this job include: * Fair pay (part-time and/or contract-to-hire scenarios are possible) * Work-life balance (this is a new endeavor with a reasonable client, and the project is in the green, not red) * Code review and mentorship * Agile approach, gradually breaking a monolith out into the JAM stack Ideal candidates will: * Love automated testing * Love DevOps and automated release processes * Have some PHP experience, for understanding the old code base and possibly writing certain components as PHP micro-services * Have some experience with a front-end framework such as Bootstrap or Tailwind CSS * Be trusted to work remotely, if not located in Mumbai The end deliverable is: * A rewrite of an existing site - ability to view taxes from a database - ability to pay taxes, integrated with a Stripe-like third-party vendor - ability to process records from agent offices with property valuation updates - Misc reporting and administrative functions for business usage We are rewriting an older PHP technology into a modern stack. Probably something like Vue.js or React on the front-end, deployed to CDN's as static HTML/JS/CSS. For the back-end, using a JAM-stack approach, and having micro-service API's in AWS (Cloud API gateway + Lambda functions perhaps). Unit testing will be important. Re-usable UI components will be important. Unit testing covering the UI components will be important. We will manage it agile-style, with a 10-20 hr per week part-time schedule. I'll be your code reviewer / lead engineer, guiding you as per company standards.
