Optimize AJAX/JS and fix/add few things single page.

I have a single page using ajax/js that needs to be optimized to use less resources. Also need the following things fixed/added. To be fixed/added. 1. When you click a button it doesnt always process could be due to there being too much calls going on at once but needs to be fixed. 2. Some buttons are to enable or disable a selection would like to replace them with on/off type switches. 3. When you click on something would like the buttons to respond in some way as to let the user know it has been clicked and they should not keep clicking it or maybe just disable further clicking until its activated.
