I propose to build the site using PHP and MySQL, which would be ideal to storing/accessing the data needed. Each school will require its own administrator to admin its own teacher accounts, so that each teacher would have one account, password protected. The teachers would need to be able to add/modify/remove students and to assign one star per day. There would also need to be a website admin to add schools and assign an administrator for each school. The leaderboards and prize awarding could be done automatically. Do you have an idea for the design of the site and what it should look like? A logo, name, colours, or similar sites that you like? You mentioned that each teacher can award one star per day to one pupil. As the prizes are given out randomly, what effect do those stars have in addition to being used to generate the leaderboard?
