Introduction A system to automatically file files sent to or received from contractors Ideally a plug in or routine which can run on a open source Windows email client or even a standalone utility (again to run under Windows). Based on having 2 email addresses set up. Sent Behaviour When sending a "sent" logging address is copied in and the other email addresses in the To: field are used to decide on folder. Received Behaviour Fwd the email to a "received" email address and the previous From: header is scanned to decide on folder. Fwd: removed from subject text before saving General Behaviour Individual email address or entire domains can be added to a table to decide on which folder to file into. That list should be accessible from a web accessible front end (could be a .xls in a dropbox folder – or similar) If an entire domain is added to one contractor and an individual from that domain to another then dual copies are created. Multiple addressees from multiple contractors should produce multiple copies Multiple addressees, from the same contractor should produce one copy. Folder Structure Two folder are used, one for sent and one received. The name and location of these folders must be user setable The program would then automatically create the sub folder to the below standerd. Contractor Name/YYYYMMDD_TTTT_Subject/Attachments and email text Email text should be saved as a .txt or .pdf with the YYYYMMDD_TTTT_Subject as the name
