We require a program that can screen scrape 4 separatebetting websites and display the results to a program. Two of the sites are flash and the other twoare JavaScript (full details will be given of the sites on request).
The program needs to scrape the data both displaying theprices on the screen as well as placing the prices into a database for futureuse. From each website it only requiresone line of data on that match. The userwill need to be able to navigate to the correct match and then start the scraperunning. If that betting website is notcurrently taking bets this will also have to be displayed (by turning thatwebsite name and buy/sell prices [login to view URL] sites need to be able to be scraped every second.
The program needs to be client/server based with the screenscrapers being able to work on a server application running into a database andthen multiple client apps viewing this data and also recording bets. There needs to be a way of doing two games atonce (initially one game, with additional code for two or more games later)

I have had a number of questions regarding spread betting so here is a basic explanation of how spread betting works. This knowledge will be required to record bets and calculate the Profit/Loss position............... Spread Betting.... This program is written as a spread betting monitoring and recording program. Spread betting in rugby union or rugby league is based upon betting on how much margin is going to be between the two teams. So if a team wins 22 ??" 10 the margin or supremacy is 12 to that team. Each betting website offers a Buy and Sell price which if you are buying you are saying that team will win by more than that margin, and if you are selling you say they will win by less than that margin. For instance a site might be offering Sell 8 and Buy 10. If you were to buy at 10 and the team was then to win 25-3, you would win a 12 point difference. When you buy or sell you can choose how much a point is worth so if you bought £5 at 10, then you would win £5 * 12 so £60. Conversely if the team only won 20-18 you would lose -8 points, and would lose -8 * £5 so -£40. In spread betting you can close a position by buying and then selling the same stake. So if I bought at 10, and the team scored and the spread changed to 15-17 I could then sell at 15, and take my 5 points profit.

We have decided to remove one of the websites from the requirements. So the sites are now [login to view URL], [login to view URL], www.sportingindex.com. I have also attached a new document to the bid, which details on each site what needs to be scraped.
