I want to take a quote that is in pdf format and change the wording from English to Spanish. Every quote will have the exact same English that will need to be changed into the exact same Spanish words. I already have a table for the conversion, a sample of the English quote and a sample of the final Spanish quote. To accommodate the fact that Spanish wording is longer, the height of the text must change from 9 pts to 8 pts. The pdf's would always be in the same folder with the same name on the Desktop. As new quotes are generated and deposited in the folder, they would be translated immediately. Then, the result would be printed. ## Deliverables **Spanish Translator** Please review all of the attachments in the zip file to see before and after translation documents and to see the translation table. **What Is In The Program:** ** ** The program consists of: [login to view URL], [login to view URL], and, perhaps, a dll. It is copied to the user’s Desktop. [login to view URL] is a compiled version of SpanishConfig.xml. **SpanishConfig File:** ** ** This file contains all of the variable information the program needs to run. Under <customization>, there are three variables: <window-title>, <user-message> which is the line underneath the Window Title and the <file-location> which lists where the program will find the pdf files. Under <restrictions> is the <expiration> <date> and <message>. Under <translation> is the actual word conversions. It looks like English=Spanish. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <datapusher> <customization> <window-title>Spanish Translator</window-title> <user-message>This program is registered to Sheldon Simpson </user-message> <file-location>Desktop\Field Data Email Files</file-location> </customization> <restrictions> <expiration> <date>2009-02-21</date> <!-- expiration date YYYY-MM-DD DEFAULT --> <message>Program has expired!!! Call XDateTools To Renew.</message> <!-- expiration message DEFAULT --> </expiration> </restrictions> <translation> California Homeowners Insurance Proposal=Cotización de Seguro de Vivienda para Dueño de Casa Prepared For:=Preparado para: Prepared By:=Preparado por: Rates Effective :=Precios Efectivos: Proposal Date :=Fecha de la Propuesta: CA License No. :=Licencia de CA No.: Rating Zipcode:=Código Postal de Valorización: Construction:=Tipo de Construcción: Age of Insured:=Edad del Asegurado: Const./Renov:=Año de Const./Renov. The width of the Interface Window expands to accommodate the User Message size. **The Start Button ??"** ** ** Once the user presses the Start button, the interface would minimize and the software would start to check for the file folder listed in file-location every second to see if there is a pdf to convert and print. It would continue to check until the stop button is pressed. This button grays out when it is pressed. **The Stop Button ??"** ** ** Stops the program and terminate the memory resident portion that looks for pdfs in a file folder. The interface remains on the screen. The Stop button is grayed out unless the program is actually running. **The Setup Button ??"** ** ** The setup button would generate another screen. ![][2] Window Title: Setup This screen has four questions with yes and no radio buttons. The four questions are: Save the English quote? Save the Spanish quote? Print the English quote? Print the Spanish quote? The default value is yes to all four questions. Obviously, the program would need to track what work has already been done and what quotes still need to be processed. There would be an OK, CANCEL and APPLY buttons. **The About Button ??"** ** ** The about button would generate another screen. ![][3] Window Title: About Spanish Translator". Below that, it would say: Spanish Translator Version: 1.0 Product ID: 074-4 Copyright (copyright symbol) 2008 X-Date Tools License: This software is licensed to the Agent or District Manager. It can be used 0n any computer within that office and NO WHERE ELSE! Then it would have an OK button. **How It Works:** ** ** Pdfs are generated in another program that always puts them in the same folder with the same name on the Desktop. (This is listed in the SpanishConfig file under <file-location>.) As new quotes are generated and deposited in the folder, they would be translated immediately. The next action would depend on the setting in the setup file. New pdfs will be generated every 30 to 45 seconds. If the program found multiple pdf files, it would issue a warning screen. ![][4] Window Title: Warning "Multiple quotes were found. If all quotes should be translated, press Continue. If not, press Cancel. There would be two buttons: Continue and Cancel.
