___Outlook Add-In
We would like to create an Outlook Add-In as a distribution option for secure RSS feeds.
__Requirements
_The Feed
The news feed contains the following RSS item tags:

'.$subject.'

'.$description.'

,
and
are required and will therefore always be present in the feed.
There are restrictions on field lengths and image sizes for the news items as follows:
Title: 25 characters
Link: No restrictions
Description: 70 characters
Image: 24 x 24 pixels (png, jpg, gif)
Enclosure file name: 25 characters
The feed contains the following Channel information:

'.$rss_title.'

'.$rss_description.'

'.$rss_title.'

'
The feeds may be in English, French, German or Spanish: one language only inside one feed.
The news feeds are in a password protected folder that can be accessed using basic authentication. Users should not be prompted to enter a username and password. The username and password could be included in the URL. It should not be possible for a user to see the URL of the feed or to be able to change it. Other security options could be possible (e.g. token authentication).
_The display
The add-in should create a panel attached to the inbox. Panel parameters:
- Width
o Fixed width: maximum 25 characters.
o Not possible to resize or close.
- Height
o Depends on position of viewing pane in Outlook.
o Should display all news items in the feed. A scroll bar will be necessary for feeds containing a lot of news items.
- Design
o If possible reproduce the style of the Outlook version.
o The logo from the RSS channel description should display after the last news item.
o If possible include the RSS Channel title at the top of the pane above the first news item
o It will be necessary to format the image so that it is padded and text flows correctly around it.
o Some form of background or divider is needed to clearly differentiate each news item.
Mock-Up of the layout will be provided to the winning bidder.
_The Technical Requirements & Documentation
The add-in will be used by different companies with different network and machine configurations. It will therefore be necessary to supply a pre-requisites document explaining what is needed in terms of machine configuration (e.g. .net framework), proxy configuration and firewall configuration.
The add-in should be compatible with Outlook 2007 and higher. The add-in should also work with 32BIT & 64BIT machines.
It should be possible to install/uninstall the add-in individually for testing.
In production environments the add-in will be installed/uninstalled via group policy. It should also be possible to update the add-in via group policy. Installation/uninstallation/update documentation for individual and group policy situations will be required.
It should be possible for authorised administrators to change the RSS feed information for the add-in to produce variations. If specific tools are required to do this, then please specify them. The different variations of the add-in will be distributed to different active directory groups. Documentation explaining how to create a variation of the add-in will be required.
We only wish to maintain one version of the add-in but with RSS variations.
_Future Options
We plan to create updated versions of the add-in over time. We will return to you for these new versions.
_Deadlines
A test version for mid August 2012. A final version for mid September 2012.
_Budget
I've put €750 - €1500 but let me have your honest opinion.
