It seems that you have a very large number of records, or there might be problems on Partition and Indexing. We shall use dynamic search query procedure and indexing, if you have a very large number of records. If there are problems in Partitioning, then lets divide the data into trunks and do the summarization using the "key values", after this process retrieving the "raw data" will be much more sooner. My confidence is high that I will be able to help you because I have worked with both large and small databases. The largest database I dealt with was for a forum that had over 1 million posts. Between editing the search file and fixing the tables, I was able to get searches able to execute within a couple seconds instead of a minute plus or failing. I have also used PHP and SQL for nearly a decade and have some of the highest scores in a variety of categories related to websites. My plan is to first actually look at what queries are being performed first. This way I can be sure the tables are actually using the most optimal engine for storing the data. I also need to review the queries because then it will help me figure out how to best index the tables. I will then clear any overhead which can accumulate over time, particularly when deleting records. You would need to specify how old data has to be for it to be pruned.
