Fetch Amazon info using JavaScript

I'm looking for a JavaScript that will fetch several prices and ranks from Amazon based on a list of ASINs, and insert each into a pre-existing div (i.e. a different div for each value). I've used Amazon's API from other languages; it's fairly straightforward (I'm just not a JavaScript expert). To have good performance while abiding by Amazon's "one transaction per second" limit, the script should fetch several values in a single transaction. (Queries can be combined to fetch more than 10 at a time.) The script should be able to fetch data for up to 100 products, which may require several distinct calls to Amazon with an appropriate delay, all of which should be handled by the script. The script should use version 4 of Amazon's API, and not rely on XSL or large JavaScript libraries. It should OPTIONALLY display error messages, e.g. controlled by a variable. The embedded portion must be minimal, and work in the HTML body since some clients won't have access to the HTML header. The script should be clearly written and include sufficient code-level documentation so that a JavaScript novice with limited experience with the Amazon API could make minor changes as required in the future. Please budget for answering questions and/or adding more code-level comments and/or minor rewrites if the first deliverable is (in my sole discretion) not sufficiently simple and clear. The script author must have their own Amazon account for testing; we will use our account in production. The script will be embedded in a page at one domain and served from a page at a different domain (and of course call Amazon, which is yet another domain), therefore XmlHttpRequest and iframe techniques will not work. If it's helpful, I can supply a working script that dynamically builds a script. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform The script must work on recent releases of several browsers: MSIE and FireFox for Windows, Safari 1.3+ and FireFox for MacOS X, and Mozilla 1.2.1 for MacOS 9. Evidence of testing should be included. (I can test on MacOS 9.) Support for other browsers is highly encouraged.
