Instant Messenger /w server and plugins

Greetings This project will be based or have functions similar to the [login to view URL] Instant Messenger code, adaptions needed are as follows: 1. contact list will be stored on the server and not on the client side 2. system needs to be coded in c++ and fully documented code for easy debugging 3. design needs to be based on modular coding for quick updates and easy plugin installation 4. the design to be implemented will be from a photoshop template that will be provided for look and feel of the client 5. feature to have plugins added for addition feature set 6. client must have text message, text chat (irc style for multiuser), url sending, file send, mini-fileserver, mini-web server. 7. plugin to be added will be a gaming client plugin using common api plugin interfact described as follows a. person to person voice chat b. Gaming client as follows The following are the features understood as required by the perceived gaming client. 1. User management: Server side - User account management: User id, password, usage profiling, buddy list, personal information / profile, Server side preferences (if any required) etc - Online users management: Room/Game wise browsing of online user, current status - Player matching Client Side - Games available, ignore list, GUI preferences/personalization 2. Download Manager 3. Chat (including voice chat) The performance and support / portability needs to be established. 4. Instant messenger: [login to view URL] provides a brand able open source XML based IM client. We need to study in detail if we can use it as such or do we need to make our own based on XML DTD defined by them. May be there is a server side component required which is hosted by jabber itself. If this id true, the client as well as server side will have to be rewritten. 5. Game hosting / launching: Hosting: Generic server component in the client providing API's for p-to-p communication so that games can be written for hosting on the client side using the IPX protocol. Create set of API to facilitate p-to-p communication. Launching server-hosted games will be implemented on server side. -Interoperability of IM with other standard services -Portability to Linux -smart upgrades by checking version when login occurs 5. the server needs to run on linux and be able to cluster for setup of server farm 6. system needs to be able to block mass spamming of clients ## Deliverables Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
