Cayen Systems provides database management solutions for schools and non-profits. It has clients in 33 states. The vast bulk of our clients are using our web-based software to manage their Supplemental Education Services and Afterschool programs. Typically, perpetual software licenses are sold outright with an optional annual maintenance fee that includes support and updates, though some ASP contracts are being made of late. Scope of work Cayen Systems is seeking an experienced web designer that will transform Cayen Systems' current website ([login to view URL]) into a more informative and functional one that is also optimized for Google, Yahoo and MSN search engines. This project is not an update of the current website, but a complete redesign. The qualified candidate will not only have knowledge of HTML and other relevant languages, but also posses expertise in design, content and layout that will facilitate ease of use, encourage frequent visits to the website and portray Cayen Systems as an expert in its field of providing data solutions to nonprofits and schools. It should be aesthetically pleasing especially to educators and women professionals, but without the unnecessary clutter and easy to navigate. An active server pages (.ASP) interface for the new website and the existing databases is preferred, though not required, as it can be easily edited after initial design by our in-house development staff. The successful candidate should be able to provide other options for the website that will enhance the value of the website to clients and visitor alike. Additional consideration will be give to candidates with experience and ability in writing content for our new website. Approximate ideal date for completion of the work and launch of the website is January 2007.
