[url removed, login to view] clone with additional feature

Hi

I’d like a clone of [url removed, login to view] with an additional “saved search” feature.

It must be written in either PHP with MySQL Database or ASP with MSSQL database.

Search Feature

The clone will need to be able to search

[url removed, login to view]

[url removed, login to view]

[url removed, login to view]

[url removed, login to view]

[url removed, login to view]

[url removed, login to view]

[url removed, login to view]

[url removed, login to view] (I own this site – software modeled on [url removed, login to view] that has been customized. You will need to liaise with my programmers to configure the search of [url removed, login to view]).

There may be other sites that I will tell you about during the development.

After entering a search term, the engine will search all of the above auction sites, and will display all of the results from all sites. This will be shown in a default order of ending soonest, but this must be changeable to order by price as well. I also want the flexibility to ensure that one, or some, or all sites are represented on the first page of the results.

The search results must look like they appear on the related auction sites – with the picture, title and current price and there must be a link to the item on the other site. The relevant Auction’s logo will also be next to the search.

For [url removed, login to view] it will also display the categories (if required) to further refine the search if required eg the search “mp3” on [url removed, login to view] does not bring up a list of items, it instead brings up categories which you need to click on to refine the search). If ebay displays categories instead of results the system will need to say “you need to refine your search for ebay, please click on one of these categories to continue your search”

The search of each external site must be “modular”, and if one search fails it does not cause the others to fail.

Multiple searches must also be possible at the same time, i.e. if two people click “search” at the same time, the system does not have to wait for one search to finish before the next one starts. If 50 people click all at the same time there must be no difference to the user to if 1 search was started.

- The 50 searches will be sent independently

- The results will be displayed when the results are returned.

- i.e. If the results for search 48 are in before search 10, then it will be displayed without being delayed by search 10

Saved Searches

Each search will contain a link option to “save this search”.

If a user saves a search then the system will automatically run the search every day and email the user new listings that match the search from all sites.

1. When saving the search – the system will ask for the users email address, and will send a “confirm” email to the user. The user must click on the link in the email to confirm the saved search

2. When the saved search is confirmed, the system will

a. Email the results of the initial search to the user

b. Save all of the item id’s that it has emailed to a database,

3. On the following day the system will automatically do the search again, compare the search results to the database for that search, take out the items that it has already emailed, add all new listings to the email, and send the email to the user

4. The email should look like the display on the search as mentioned above.

5. There must be a “renewal date” eg – 6 months, and an email to prompt renewal,

6. There must be an unsubscribe link in the email

Main page

The main page will be very basic with

1. Logo

2. Text

3. Search box

4. List of auction sites that the site searches

5. A couple of links to “text” pages with feedback boxes through which contact can be made with the site administrator.

Integrating new Auction sites

The system must me able to integrate and search new sites easily.

Advertising

The site and “saved search emails” will need to be compatible for “paid advertising” from a business such as postclick.com.au.

You will supply all source code as well as the finished product.

Payment will be in three stages. 1/3 when I can see that you have made significant progress in the development, 1/3 when the site is finished and installed on my server and is up and running. 1/3 when it has been up and running problem free for 1 month. I would also like to negotiate an ongoing fee for adding new auction sites to the search at later dates.
