Shockwave for Punch Animation

I have a character animation of a cartoon man punching. I want to add a shockwave after his fist so that I can make the "hit area" of the punch larger for my video game.
Here's an example of a shockwave that I would like to add. This is just for reference to give you an idea.

I've attached an example frame of the character. There are about 20 punch frames. We just need this cartoon shockwave added after the punch. If you have any questions please let me know.
