This project should be a fairly straight forward one. Please let me know your strategy for implementation so I know you have read and understood the requirements. Remember there is a wireframe attached.
Pre requisites
• Use Youtube .net library where appropriate
• C#
• Webforms or MVC or windows app
• There is an existing SQL 2005 database (I will provide 2 test databases)
• Linq to sql or entity framework
Basic workflow and requirements (wire frame provided)
1) Select a local database to connect to (dropdown) – the different databases should be set up in [login to view URL] as connection strings and then the database specified on selection. The selected database will be used to save the youtube records selected.
2) After the database is selected via the dropdown I want a valid login to add records to the database so provide a login and validate it against the user table .
3) Search videos – enter a search string and return videos that match the string. Youtube provides an API for exactly this purpose. The videos returned should be validated against existing records in the local database and labelled as either new or existing
4) The videos returned should display as a thumb nail, with video title and date uploaded to youtube displayed. The thumbnail should link to the actual video in youtube.
5) Videos should be sorted by most recently loaded to youtube as the first records.
6) Select videos (tickbox) for upload to local database. Tickbox should be greyed out if video exists already
7) Add company, year, decade and country info by way of dropdowns and text boxes
8) Submit- saves selected videos to local database (selected in step 1) including the extra info in step 5, and also the user info as well. The exact fields from the youtube api saved to the local database will be detailed later
Other
1) Filter – new/existing/ all as a dropdown
2) Pagination – I want to display 50 videos per page (configurable in [login to view URL]) with suitable pagination included on the page. It may not be possible to return the total number of videos that match the search string via the youtube api so a next previous button is fine.
