A prototype of a system as described below: - open to bidding

The system will consist of two battery operated devices (probably rechargeable) that communicate wirelessly (probably Bluetooth) and one of them (when commanded) needs to push and hold a mechanical button with about 5Kg of force. The same device will also need to release the button when appropriate. Both devices will be space constrained and need some amount of configurability (possible through a USB connection or the Bluetooth).

Device1: My design of the actuating device is depicted in the attached file "[login to view URL]", but alternate designs are welcome. I have OpenSCAD models of this design if it will help. Device1 is inserted into the magazine well of a Ruger SR-9 (a semi-automatic pistol) and needs to be able to lock itself inside the magazine well of the weapon without damaging the weapon. The barbs depicted in the [login to view URL] file were not sufficient for this purpose. The locking mechanism should have two configurations 1) Quick release 2) difficult release - probably a tamper resistant screw holding the quick release actuator in the locked position.

Device2: The second device is mounted in a wrist band (possibly a repurposed/hacked Bluetooth watch). When device2 gets close to device1, device1 needs to activate a motor to extend the top about 5mm to press a button with a force of about 5Kg. When device2 is moved away from device1, device1 needs to activate a motor to pull the top back in to let the button return to its un-pressed position.

Battery life should be as long as possible, but must be at least 24 hours for each device. Including at least 10 cycles by device 1.

In my attempt of the prototype, I used the gear motor similar to this: [login to view URL] but something like this [login to view URL] might be better. Alternate designs are welcome.

Please let me know if you can prototype this system and an estimated cost.

Thanks,

Alan
