Hello, I have 6 years of experience in developing advanced engineering methodologies for automotive industry using Multibody, Finite element methods and other user routines as well. I feel your problem can also be tackled in both multibody as well as independent code in matlab provided proper governing equations are derived. I can also help you in formulating the problem mathematically or directly simulate the parameters (if you have already arrived) in a multibody tool. Please get back to me for more technical discussions.

I am currently practicing with a top range multibody dynamic simulation software a ball through a channel example, and this is similar to your application other than the fact that your channels will be rotating to which I will need to modify to apply a rotational acceleration. You could try with me and under your guidance about the application I am sure I can generate a reasonable dynamic model which will depict the intent. Regards Dave
