Linux server expert - need help for Dedicated server

Hello,
We have bought linux dedicated server , we using since few month, all fine.
I see two problem
1, When my server restart then I see my site login stop working and giving 500 error , my developer saying that their global set some setting its getting reset to default so its cause the login to database problem.
so he was given me one sql query and when we run that query as SET GLOBAL sql_mode= --- > group by query then its start working fine the login I mean with database.
So we need to check how to fix this setting permanently. as I always need to run this query when server restart.
2, HTACCESS - we trying to rewrite url by htaccess by my developer saying they trying it but its not taking , so he saying may be some setting on server side.
So these 2 you need to support to fix with this me on server.
I will give you my anydesk access or team viewer and you can do fix this with me or guide me, I will fix it on the front of you by your help.
