Curious about How Close Relationships Work (or Don't Work?)

I'm a professional couples therapist. I'm hiring a few people to be a learning audience for an interactive lecture series about how intimate relationships work (and often don't work), and how couples therapy can help them.

Normally clients would pay ME to get this service, rather than me paying THEM. But in this case, because I need you to attend more to my needs (for an audience) rather than me attending to whatever yours might be, I'm willing to pay you a token amount for your sustained attention.

You would attend a series of half a dozen video webinars of 2 hours each.

You can also join with your partner, and be paid double! However, the pay is not the main benefit to you.

You will learn many useful and interesting things, and you will even get a bit of free advice, coaching, or counselling. (This is not a substitute for complete couples therapy, however.)

There will be no need for you to take notes, and you will not be tested on the subject matter, but you should have a great memory and ability to absorb ideas and concepts.

Note: Please do not apply unless you are / were:

- Living in the US, Canada, Europe, or similar western culture for over 10 years

- Over age 30

- Married or cohabiting in an intimate relationship for at least 5 years

- Working as a journalist, teacher, researcher, or other role of learning or imparting concepts or skills

- Completely fluent in spoken English

- NO work experience or education in psychology or related fields

- Available for at least 6 two-hour sessions on mutually convenient evenings at 7pm PST during the next month or two at the same rate.

- Have a computer with headset or earbuds, a reliable internet connection, and a quiet private room

I will be looking for your interest and engagement with me, starting with the first session. Only those who show these qualities will be invited to continue:

- curious and enthusiastic about the topics,

- listen carefully,

- encourage me to go deeper or explain more,

- ask intelligent and revealing questions,

- ask for more clarity,

- talk about any confusion or doubts,

- connect the ideas together,

- offer analogies or examples or illustrations or exercises,

- etc.
