Create a package for encryption and decryption on Java

I wish to encrypt and decrypt text of upto 500 characters for use in an API. I will use a common key at both ends for the same. I need a java package with options to provide the key and text as input to receive the encrypted/decrypted data as output. This is quite obviously a straightforward requirement and there are very many solutions available. The reason why am putting this up here is that am facing issues either with deprecated classes or problems with key size etc. This is a quick job if you know what you are doing and therefore please bid only if you do so.
