Objective To equip my customer with centralized database cluster for multiple management systems with two database servers to provide 7x24 redundancy in active standby mode and fault tolerance. Background My customer has multiple management systems using embedded database in the system server itself, the current problems of system individual database are: a. The database for each systems are isolated, cannot share the information between the systems to streamline the process; b. The embedded database on the system server has limited storage size; c. The database backup schema relies on system auto backup to the same hard disk array or RAID-5, no redundant database server backup. To solve the problems mentioned above, my customer management systems need to use the central integrated database to share information and two database servers are required for hot standby backup.
