Dear Hiring Manager,
When I was a child, I had a similar dream as my peers of becoming a professional athlete. While my resume doesn't state my height, a three second look at me is all it takes to show that I'm not built to dunk a basketball or hit home runs at Fenway Park. In realizing that I wasn't cut out for the professional sports world, I found my true passion in design. I knew that being a professional designer was my calling when I would walk around Target as a kid, and instead of shopping for a cool toy, I grazed each aisle to see how their branding and signage made them stand above stores like Shopko and Fred Meyer. Here we are 10 years down the road and I'm happy to say that I'm living out one of my childhood dreams and loving every second of it.
As a designer with five years of experience, I've worked with companies big and small and have learned a great amount about people, business, and work ethic. Over the course of my career, there's one key factor to success that has proven itself to be the outlying factor over the rest: character. While there is a vast amount of good designers around the world, the character of those designers is what makes them better than the rest. Through pushing myself to become the best athlete, designer, son, brother, etc., charisma and grit are the two things that drive me.
