EASY create thumbnails for my Wordpress/Woocommerce Site

Hey Freelancers-
I need someone to take a big folder of full-res images, and create thumbnail files for my site.
I need you to be familiar with Wordpress, because I need answers to the following questions:
1. If 1200x1200 is too big for the site (for loading, etc) is 1000x1000 too large also? Or do we have to do 800x800? I am afraid of losing too much quality when people pinch-zoom.
2. Can the thumbnail files be uploaded with transparent backgrounds? I initially did these as .jpg's with a white background, and a thin white border, but now I think it is good to set a standard. Maximum proportions of artwork placed in a square thumbnail frame. My website is mobile optimized, will show you when we talk.
