Adding formulas for totals from a dropdown menu to my Excel document

I'm doing a home improvement project and need some help setting up the Excel document to track the overall budget and spend.
I need some help setting up totals/subtotals depending on who has paid for certain items and i've given a bit more of a brief on this Loom video:
