Hello, I am interested to complete this project. First approach would be to use Arduino AVR as .wav reader and design PCB as compact as possible. I would go with SPI controlled DAC and 1W amplifier IC. I have similar prototype tested. Controlling WS2812B needs some precise timing, but it seems possible. In this case you can use Arduino IDE to update code using FTDI cable. Other approach would be to use commercially available audio decoder IC, in this case you can use mp3 and other audio files as well. Some more testing will be needed to decide which micro controller and IC to use. 5V power supply is needed for WS2812B leds and 1W audio output. For a final product I would like to prototype and send you working PCB, along with gerber files, to be sure that design is error free.

Arduino Nano circuit must be replaced into a new PCB with required input and output filtering. If you dont need DSP, then its much easier. I would win projects for high rates, this is why I am cheap.
