I already have raspi to do the coding. Will purchase a raspi camera . I can take photographs from my present country and do the analysis and let you know the results. Sensing the number plate distance is not a major problem.

Hello, I would like to ask and sggest few things. First instead of using some sensor I suggest to relay only on image processing algorithms, and detect moment when car appears at apopriate position. Next thing is question do you need fullt real time processing algorithm. If so it could be imposible to do it on resperry Pi, but if it is enaugh to take a snap of car at real time and postprocess it in other subproccess I can do it. So my suggestion is to do implement real time algorithm to take a snapshot, and postprocess these image in anoter subroutine. I would like to write it in python and OpenCV if you desire to have this code in C++ it takes littlebit longer but it is possible also. Greetings, Marek

Hello, I am an embedded software engineer (with a soon-to-be-completed master's degree from TU Delft) and am very interested in your project. Several of my academic assignments were in the domain of image processing on real-time embedded platforms. In some of these cases, I have worked on the delegation of tasks to a dedicated image processing unit, such as the one on Rasberry Pi (VideoCore GPU). Having developed embedded software for several SoCs which use ARM processing units such as the Beagle Board, Zed Board, I have a good understanding of ARM architectures. In order to get started with a more detailed work plan, information on the Singapore Vehicle Plate, the actual platform on which the module will be installed, the limitations/restrictions on the choice of sensors, and the type and level of testing and validation would be required. I love coding and I am good at it. I have worked on image processing before. I have a good experience both with Python and C++. I haven't worked with Raspberry Pi before, but I have read about it and working with it seemed pretty easy. I am bidding for this project because it sounds really interesting!
