Auto populating several forms and scraping the result using headless browsers [PhantomJS or node.js + Zombie]

I worked using Awesomium many times before. I think Awesomium is the best solution for .net based application. But for using it you need to have a licensed version, hope you got one. Thanks

Hello, I'm experienced with using PhantomJS for web scraping, form filling and web automation. PhantomJS is the right choise for such work in my opinion, no other technology comes close. I don't have experience with .Net but the PhantomJS scripts can run as a local web server on a port you can choose and thus integrate with any technology. I also have experience with CasperJS if that might be needed in the project. From what I understand after reading your description, you need 3-4 forms filled, result of submitted page extracted and pass 30-40 information fields for filling forms? Are there any Captchas to be decoded? Generally I charge USD200-300 for one form filling script depending on the complexity of work so exact cost for complete project can be estimated only after detailed discussion. Thanks

Hi, I'd like to get this done for you. There not much detail in the project brief, so I'll try to be brief as well. The exact tooling I would use very much depends on the details of the webpage your trying to scrape, but PhantomJS is most likely. I usually write these things as content scripts or snippets in Chrome, before moving them to PhantomJS as injected scripts. Before getting further in the details, I really need to know more about the target forms, and about the data that you plan to populate them with (i.e. how to map the data to the correct form elements). As far as integration with asp.net goes, any mechanism of sending JSON between the two will do, with local HTTP endpoints being the most obvious. I'm looking forward to hearing more from you, Calin
